Hip-pop artist Call Me Karizma talks working with members of the Summer Set, new song (exclusive)

December 01 2016, 10:56 AM EST By Mackenzie Hall

If you haven’t heard of rising electro-pop artist Call Me Karizma, now’s your last chance to get in on the ground floor. Having previously toured with acts such as MAX and the Summer Set, he knows how to work catchy hooks with synth beats. This is evident on his latest single, “If I Had A Heart (ft. Avalon Young),” which is he sharing exclusively with AP.

"I wrote these lyrics a year ago as an acoustic song that I never really planned to release,” he says. “But this last summer I was working on music in LA with John and Stephen Gomez (the Summer Set). I showed them the song ‘Paint It Black’ (which was the original name), and we produced this.”

The track is in the same vein as CMK’s previous work (full-lengths Loser and Uninvited), with elements of both electronic and hip-hop (think Mod Sun meets Hellogoodbye). Give “If I Had A Heart (ft. Avalon Young)” a listen below and let us know what you think!

You can catch Call Me Karizma live at the following dates and grab tickets here.

Dec 4 - NYC, NY @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Dec 8 - St Louis, MO @ Cicero's
Dec 10 - Columbus, OH @ Skully's
Dec 11 - Lansing, MI @ The Loft
